#1 in Customer Service

April 1, 2014

A Gardner Denver service truck winds its way down the dark, quiet roads. The driver is following a GPS coordinate for a job site in northeastern Colorado. The clock ticks by showing 1 a.m., 2 a.m., and 3 a.m. Finally, at 4 a.m., the driver pulls up to a gate on a customer’s job site. An overnight crew meets him and leads him into the facility. Together, they unload the truck packed with Gardner Denver valves and seats. Within five hours after getting an emergency call from a customer with a big problem, Gardner Denver solved it keeping production flowing.

Northwest Regional Manager George Rainey received that late night call a few months ago and knew his customer needed his help. The crew on the job site had gone into the warehouse to get more valves and seats and discovered there were none. The customer explained its computer supply system had an error which allowed the valves and seats to be depleted to zero without anyone knowing.

With time being essential, the customer called after 11 p.m. and asked for help. Rainey headed into the Cheyenne, Wyoming Gardner Denver regional office, loaded up what would fit in the service truck, and headed out for the three-hour drive.

“They were breathing a sigh of relief,” says Rainey when he delivered the parts.  “We were able to keep them up and running. The next day, we shipped more than 800 pieces to them to replenish their supply.”

With a focus of being #1 in customer service, this scenario isn’t unusual. “Anybody at Gardner Denver that would have gotten the phone call would have done the same thing,” says Rainey. “It’s a testament to the Gardner Denver customer service. We all make sure that we take care of our customers – no matter what time it is.”

With regional facilities located in key areas throughout the U.S., deliveries within hours after receiving a call are possible. Gardner Denver has facilities in Cheyenne, Wyoming; Oklahoma City; Oklahoma, Tulsa, Oklahoma; San Antonio, Texas; Ft.
